The New England Gilbert & Sullivan Society is delighted to be celebrating its 50th anniversary in the fall of 2026. NEGASS has been fostering the appreciation of the works of Gilbert & Sullivan since its founding in 1976 by the late Warren Colson, a local performer, photographer, and author of The Gilbert & Sullivan Concordance. NEGASS supports local performing groups by publicizing and reviewing events in our bimonthly newsletter, The Trumpet Bray; placing advertisements in program books; and arranging group outings to selected performances. NEGASS also sponsors its own events such as the ever-popular operetta sings, including an annual read-through with full orchestra. Our library includes G&S vocal scores that members can borrow for group sings, and orchestral scores and parts that are available for rent.
You are invited to join us in the heart of historic Concord, Massachusetts for a weekend of singing through all 13 extant operettas without dialogue. Participants will be able to make requests for roles to sing or operettas to conduct or accompany. We will do our best to honor your requests. Everyone is welcome—nay, encouraged—to sing the chorus parts throughout.
Registration is open! Please visit our Registration Page. The registration fee of $100 will cover meals throughout the event, which will run from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. Discounts will be available for students, conductors, accompanists, and those unable to stay for the full weekend.
