--- Raylynmor Opera Company of Keene, New Hampshire will be holdingKoko with the tom-tit Principal auditions, by appt only, in Peterborough, NH, for their Fall production of THE MIKADO - but, new! the original auditions, planned for June 11-12 have been postponed to an as-yet-unknown date. [More news as it breaks!] They are also looking for a Stage Director and Conductor. Performance dates are November 11,12,13 at the Colonial Theater in Keene NH. With orchestra, and fully staged. --- MIT Gilbert and Sullivan Players announce interviews for the Fall 2005 production of THE MIKADO. Performances will take place the weekends of December 2nd and December 9th.

--- The Connecticut G&S Society in Middletown will revive THE SORCERER John Wellington Wellsfor only the second time in our 25-year performing history. July 16, 7:00 pm: South Shore Conservatory’s Opera by the Bay in Hingham brings Gilbert & Sullivan back to the Carr Amphitheater with a concert version of HMS PINAFORE. Special guest conductor Steven Karidoyanes, Music Director of the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, conducts members of the opera troupe with guest soloists Richard Conrad (Captain Corcoran) and Keith Jurosko of the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players (Sir Joseph). June 24 & 25, 2005. 297 Main Street, Northampton, MA (Edwards Church).

  • Music only, with the audience as chorus -- please bring scores if you have them.
  • Registration will be $20.
  • We need to get a headcount of probable participants -- please email Jacqueline Haney Kidwell at ValleyLightOpera@yahoo.com with "Sing-Out" in the subject line.
  • Conductors, accompanists and roles will be arranged soon -- please let us know in your email what you're interested in doing.

 

Program:

A tenor, all singers above!

Friday evening:
- 6:30 -- gather & mingle;
- 7:30 -- HMS PINAFORE;
- Afterwards: adjourn to a local establishment for beverages and chat
Saturday:
- 9:00 -- bagels, coffee, and orange juice;
- 10:00 -- THE SORCERER ;
- noon -- lunch break (there are a number of great restaurants within 3 blocks) ;
- 2:00 – RUDDIGORE;
- 4:00 – THE MIKADO;
- 6:00 -- potluck supper (bring a dish or chip in for the entrées) ;
- 7:30 -- potluck entertainment (bring your parody, "party piece" or favorite number); then adjourn to a local establishment for beverages and chat
Sunday: all who can stay will meet for brunch at a local establishment.
